Villa San Michele

This was the home built in Capri by the Swedish doctor and writer Axel Munthe

The villa stands on the ruins of the chapel dedicated to St. Michael and is decorated with archaeological artifacts which were found around the island and also during his travels around the world. Today the house has become a museum. You can visit the bright interiors with its’ original antique furniture.

The park surrounding the villa was named “the most beautiful park in Italy”. On the upper terrace there is famous sphinx overlooking the sea. Place your left hand on her and make a wish… It seems to be a good omen.
